Government troops kills 10 armed terrorists in the area clearance operation in Maungtaw Township

While conducting an area clearance operation near the village of Kyetyoepyin Village, Maungtaw Township, Rakhine State yesterday,  Tatmadaw troops fought back to an assault by the terrorists, killing 10 terrorists and seizing a rifle.




After the exchange of fighting during yesterday’s 7 a.m. clearance operation in the village of Kyetyoepyin, armed attackers fled to the western part of the village.

While pursuing them, the troops were attacked by the terrorists with guns, swords and sticks.

The government troops will continue to conduct area clearance operations not to make it easy for terrorists to hide in nearby villages, for the sake of peace and stability in the area and for the protection of local residents.
